The book is done
Google docs used to have pages for more than a decade, until some product manager said "ayo, what the hell, screens don't have pages."

Stories have been told through books for a few centuries now. But, ayo, what the hell?
- Books have a definite end because you can't bind infinite pages
- My book never needs to end. I can keep adding page after page after page and never hit any practical limits.
- Books are short because you can't even properly bind more than a couple thousand pages
- My book can be as long as the distance from the earth to the sun, and back, and back again. Again, there are no practical limits.
- Books need to be finished at some point, so that they can be handed off to the people who will print, market, and sell them
- My book can be updated continuously. I could go back and edit the first chapter now if I wanted to.
What does it mean to say "the book is done" when the book in question is this one? My book is not really done. It would be more accurate to say "I'm done." I want to move on to other projects. I want to think about a new story. I want to say goodbye to these characters.
But I'll be back soon with updates about the sequel. Subscribe below to be kept in the loop.
